Mitch Utterback is a retired US Army Special Forces soldier with a master's in journalism thanks to the GI Bill. When he's not training troops as an independent contractor or working fires, floods, or pandemics as a liaison officer on an incident management team, he enjoys suffering in the outdoors in honor of his World War II predecessors — and then writing about it.
